White rice or parboiled rice can be taken

Step 1
Take a mixing bowl.add one cup of rice powder.then add 6 cups of coconut milk little by little and mix well without forming lumbs.
Step 2
Now put a pan on low flame.add jaggery powder and water.once the jaggery melts,add the rice flour-coconut mix into it.
Step 3
keep stirring.
Step 4
once the mix starts thickening,gradually add 4 tablespoons of ghee.
Step 5
keep stirring.remember to put the flame on low.
Step 6
now add 1 teaspoons of cardamom powder and 2 teaspoons of sugar.
Step 7
Then Add cashew nuts chopped. Keep stirring(when we make halwa,we have to keep stirring without taking our hands)
Step 8
once the mix becomes dark brown in colour,the ghee starts to separate and the mix starts leaving the sides of the pan,transfer to a plate/mould greased with ghee and spread with chopped cashew nuts.
Step 9
let this cool down. Once it is cooled completely( 4-5 hours),cut into desired shapes.
Step 10
Black Halwa is ready to enjoy!!
