You can also take cooked white rice instead.
Step 1
Soak the white rice in warm water for 3-4 hours.then transfer it to a mixer grinder.add cooked rice(white rice or parboiled rice),salt and little water.grind it to make a thick batter.
Step 2
Take coconut milk of a half coconut grated and add to the batter so that the consistency will be perfect for the appam.
Step 3
Now,Take a small bowl add 1 teaspoon of yeast,1 teaspoon of sugar,3-4 tablespoon of warm water.mix well and add to the batter.mix again.
Step 4
adjust the salt and keep it for 8 hours(fermentation).
Step 5
After 8 hours add grated carrot and chopped Corrionder leaves into the batter.mix again.now the batter is ready to make our paalappam.
Step 6
Heat appam pan.pour 1 scoop of batter.swirl around and close the lid.cook until the appam is cooked well(4-5 minutes).
Step 7
Paalappam is ready to enjoy with chicken/mutton curry!!
