Step 1
In a pressure cooker add washed and soaked dal ( Soaked for about 30 mins). In the same pressure cooker add onions green chillies, garlic cloves and spinach leaves.
Step 2
Pour enough water and pressure cook on medium flame for about 4-5 whistles. Let the pressure leave on its own and Put the pressure cooker on low flame.
Step 3
Add salt, red chili powder and mix thoroughly. Pour water and adjust consistency.
Step 4
Take a tadka pan and add oil and ghee. After it gets heated add few garlic pods and fry for a minute. Later add mustard and cumin seeds. Now add dry red chillies and curry leaves. while splattering add asafoetida and transfer this tadka to the pressure cooker with dal.
Step 5
Finish by adding coriander leaves and serve hot.
