Step 1
Add garlic cloves, toor dal , tomatoes to an instant pot and add turmeric and coriander powder. Add 2.5 cups of water to this. Set Instant pot to manual mode and set to 12 minutes on high. Let the pressure release naturally.
Step 2
Use a masher to mash the contents. Set the Instant pot to saute mode and add spinach to this and let boil for 3-4 minutes.
Step 3
For tempering, heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds to this. When it splutters add the rest of the contents from the tempering section and saute till the dal is slightly brown. Add this to the instant pot. Serve with hot rice.
