Step 1
Add dal to a cooker. Add one cup of water. Add along with it a pinch of turmeric n salt. Cook for 5 whistles.
Step 2
Chop tomatoes. Also slit green chillies. Smash the dal n keep the dal water aside..
Step 3
Take a pan n add ghee. Heat it n add mustard n when it crackles add green chillies, curry leaves n crushed one inch ginger.. Add chopped tomatoes. Saute well n add turmeric. Add one cup water. Let it cook well n be smashy. Add smashed dal n dal water
Step 4
Mix well . Add one cup water. Let it boil. Finally add sliced ginger, curry leaves n coriander leaves. Off the flame n after 5 mins add lemon juice to the rasam.
