Step 1
First of all grind coconut shreds using a wet grinder or make a fine paste using a mixer grinder. Using a thin muslin cloth or a strainer filter it and make coconut milk.
Step 2
Take a kadai or a vessel of your choice and add oil, put curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Let it splutter. Add chopped onion. Let it fry for a while. Once it starts getting slightly golden add chopped tomato.
Step 3
Once Tomatoes are soft and pulpy add salt , red chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Now add the coconut milk to this and keep on stirring until it comes to boil.
Step 4
Once the curry starts boiling add washed and cut fish to it. Add a small piece of(1 inch) tamarind. Keep on stirring the curry with a light hand. Make sure you don't end up mashing th fish
Step 5
Once the fish is cooked. Garnish the curry with some fresh cut coriander leaves.
