Step 1
Clean with water karela n chop into small pieces. Add green chillies to it n saute well by adding oil to a pan. saute well in oil in low flame for 10 minutes. This is done so to reduce the bitterness of karela.
Step 2
Add coconut to a mixie jar.Grind to a smooth paste. At this stage add one n a half tbsp of mustard seeds n grind once again. for two secs. transfer to a bowl n add curds as well as the fried chopped karela
Step 3
Finally tadka has to be done. For this heat a pan n add oil.Add mustard n when it splutters add dry red chillies , curry leaves n 3 tbsp coconut. saute till coconut turns brown.Pour it to the bowl. it is one of the popular dish served in North kerala during festivals like vishu n onam sadhya
