Step 1
Wash and Soak chickpeas in 2.5 cups of water overnight or for 4 hours
Step 2
Start Instant Pot in sauté mode. Add Oil & whole spices. Fry them for a few seconds.
Step 3
Add chopped onions, a pinch of salt and green chillies. Let onions fry for 2-3 mins
Step 4
Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a few seconds
Step 5
Add chopped tomatoes. Mix the mixture well together and let it cook for a couple of mins
Step 6
Add spices - Turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and chole masala. You can add splash of water if spices are sticking to the bottom
Step 7
Drain the chickpeas. Add chickpeas to the mixture and water for cooking. Make sure to scrape bottom of instant pot
Step 8
Set instant pot to pressure cook for 30 mins with vent in sealing position
Step 9
Once instant pot beeps, let the pressure release naturally.
Step 10
Turn Instant Pot back on in sauté mode. Add kasoori methi and amchoor. Let it boil for 2-3 mins
Step 11
Garnish with chopped coriander and turn off Instant Pot.
