Step 1
Wash Chana Dal and soak it for 3-4 hours in water. Keep 2 table spoon of soaked dal aside. Drain the soaked water completely and coarse grind it in a mixer grinder. Do not add water while grinding.
Step 2
Add sliced shallots, finely chopped green chillies, dried red chillies, curry leaves, salt, asafoetida, finely chopped ginger and the remaining 2 table spoon of dal that was kept aside in the first step. Add all of them to the ground mixture.
Step 3
Start making parippu vada shapes from the dal mixture and deep fry them one by one.
