You can take any fish of your choice. Bigger fish tastes better

Cut into 2 inch pieces

Small sized onion chopped

Medium sized, finely chopped
Lonmiri paste ( red chilly paste )

10-15 unit/count
If you want more paste you can use more red chilly as you can store this paste in refrigerator.

If the cloves are small use 10 cloves
Step 1
Soak dried red chilly for about 15 minutes. Peel the outer skin of cloves of garlic. Put it in a mixer/grinder and make a fine paste without adding any water. Keep it aside.
Step 2
In a pot take 1 tablespoon of cooking oil of your choice ( preferably coconut) add 1 teaspoon of mustard, 3 to 4 cloves of garlic, 5 to 6 curry leaves. Wait till the mustard starts to splutter.
Step 3
Add 1 small sized chopped onion, wait till it turns slightly golden yellow, add 2 medium sized finely chopped tomatoes to it. Let it cook for about 5 mins
Step 4
Add cut ladies finger to this and fry for about a minute. Add about 1 cup of water and wait till it boils
Step 5
Add lonmiri paste, (red chilly paste which we had kept aside) salt, turmeric powder as per your taste
Step 6
Add fish once the curry starts boiling, add a small piece of tamarind( 1 inch piece). Let it boil till the fish gets cooked
Step 7
Garnish with freshly cut coriander leaves and serve with rice or neer dosa
