Step 1
Wash medium size chicken cubes without bones in it & keep it aside.
Step 2
Take a pan & dry roast i.e. without oil 1 tsp jeera, coriander seeds, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 3 dry chillies, kalonji, sauf & methi seeds on low flame for 2 minutes. After it cools down powder it dry in a mixie. Do not add water.
Step 3
Then add this powder to chicken cubes alongwith 100 gms curd, salt, turmeric, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp lemon juice. Mix altogether & keep it aside for 1/2 an hour.
Step 4
Next grind onion into paste, take a big kadai, put 3 tbsp of oil into it, put this ground onion paste into it & saute well till it changes colour into light brown, put 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, kashmiri chilly powder & saute on medium flame till oil leaves from sides, add water & cook it well .
Step 5
Now add the marinated chicken & cook with closed lid till the chicken cubes are cooked well. When chicken is almost cooked put crushed garlic & 1/2 tsp lemon juice & cook again till the chicken gravy is a thick gravy. Put coriander over it. Note that lemon juice should be added as per your liking for sourness of the curry.
Step 6
Finally, take a small kadai, put 3 tbsp of oil in it, spurt, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp jeera, 2 dry chillies & curry leaves & pour it over the chicken curry.
Step 7
Achari chicken curry is ready. Serve it hot with rotis.
