Ingredients
- 1 cup Chana dal (Also known as split chickpeas or split Bengal gram)
- 15 units Shallots
- 3 units Green chillies
- 3 units Dry red chillies
- 1 inch Ginger (Finely chopped)
- 2 sprigs Curry leaves
- 0.5 teaspoon Asafetida (Also known as hing)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 5 cups Oil (For deep frying)

Instructions
- 1Rinse the chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the soaked dal separately.
- 2Drain the soaked chana dal completely and grind it coarsely in a mixer grinder without adding any water.
- 3Combine the ground chana dal with sliced shallots, finely chopped green chillies, dry red chillies, curry leaves, salt, asafetida, finely chopped ginger, and the reserved 2 tablespoons of soaked dal.
- 4Shape the dal mixture into small patties. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry the patties until they are golden brown and crispy.
