simple south indian black eyed peas curry | instant pot
Its slightly tangy and the only masala used in this curry is sambar powder.

Step 1
Soak lemon sized tamarind for 15 minutes in hot/warm water. Set IP to saute mode and add oil to it when its hot. Add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves, dry red chillies and hing. Saute for sometime. Add potato to this. Saute for a short a minute
Step 2
add soaked black eyes peas to it and saute for around 20 seconds. Add sambar powder to it and saute for a few minutes. Add tamarind water to it.
Step 3
Add enough water to just cover everything. Cook for 25 minutes in the IP and release pressure naturally. Garnish with coriander leaves.
