Step 1
Soak chana dal in water for 5 to 6 hrs. Drain out the water completely after 5 to 6 hrs.
Step 2
Next, coarse grind the dal in the mixer alongwith salt. Add finely cut onion, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves & mix altogether. Do not grind it with dal.
Step 3
Finally, make small balls of the ground dal mixture, then flatten the balls, make a hole in the centre (see the photo attached) & deep fry them in oil.
Step 4
Dal vada is ready. Dal vada can be had with coriander-coconut chutney or sauce.
