Onion Pakoda
Crispy and flavorful onion pakodas, a popular Indian snack, made with sliced onions, gram flour, and a blend of spices, deep-fried to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 5 units Onions, sliced (Sliced thinly)
- 4 cups Oil (For deep frying)
- 1.5 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Carom seeds
- 2 tablespoons Coriander leaves (Chopped)
- 1 cup Gram flour
- 3 tablespoons Rice flour
- 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)

Instructions
- 1In a bowl, combine the sliced onions with salt and let them rest for 10-15 minutes to release moisture. Meanwhile, heat sufficient oil in a Kadai for deep frying.
- 2Add red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, carom seeds, and chopped coriander leaves to the onions. Mix well. Then, incorporate gram flour and rice flour into the mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- 3Carefully drop small portions of the onion mixture into the hot oil. Fry until the pakodas are golden brown and crisp. Remove them using a slotted spoon and drain on absorbent paper.
- 4Sprinkle chaat masala over the hot pakodas and toss gently to coat. Serve immediately with a cup of tea or coffee.
