Spicy Beef Roast/Pothu Varattiyadh
A very spicy beef roast, traditionally enjoyed with Porotta, featuring a rich blend of spices and herbs.
Ingredients
- 500 gms Beef (Clean the beef and cut into small pieces)
- 2 units Onions (Finely chopped)
- 2 units Tomatoes (Finely chopped)
- 3 units Green chillies (Finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tsp Chili flakes
- 1 handful Curry leaves
- 1 handful Coriander leaves
- 5 tbsp Coconut oil
- 2 tbsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Black crushed pepper
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 unit Lemon

Instructions
- 1In a pot over medium heat, cook the cleaned beef with enough water, salt, and turmeric powder for 20 minutes. Set aside once cooked.
- 2In a pan over medium heat, add coconut oil. Once hot, add onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, and salt. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
- 3Add curry leaves, coriander leaves, chili flakes, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, black crushed pepper, and garam masala to the pan. Roast well until fragrant.
- 4Transfer the cooked beef into the pan with the onion masala. Mix well and adjust the salt. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the mixture, cover, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- 5Remove from heat and serve hot. The spicy beef roast is ready to be enjoyed with Porotta or your choice of bread.
