Pothu Curry/Kerala Beef Curry
Kerala beef curry is famous all over India for its taste!
Ingredients
- 1000 grams Beef
- 3 units Onions, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
- 3 units Tomatoes, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
- 2 units Green chillies, finely chopped (Finely chopped)
- 2 teaspoons Ginger garlic paste
- 1 handful Curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon Salt (Salt is added according to your taste.)
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 tablespoons Red chilli powder
- 2 tablespoons Coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon Black crushed pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala
- 1 unit Lemon
- 6 tablespoons Coconut oil
- 1 cup Water

Instructions
- 1In a pressure cooker over medium heat, add 6 tablespoons of coconut oil and allow it to heat.
- 2Add the chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, and curry leaves to the hot oil. Sauté well and add salt to taste.
- 3Once the onions are well cooked, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, black crushed pepper, and garam masala. Mix well and cook until the spices are well roasted.
- 4Add the cleaned beef to the cooker. Adjust the salt, mix well, and add 1 cup of water. Cook for 20 minutes (or 5 whistles) on medium flame.
- 5Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into the curry for enhanced flavor. The Kerala style pothu varattiyadh/beef curry is ready to enjoy!
