Cauliflower Fry / Cauliflower Varuthadh

This is a crispy cauliflower fry recipe which is very tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1 unit Cauliflower
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon Corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Water (For boiling cauliflower and making paste)

Instructions

  1. 1Cut and clean the cauliflower. In a pan, add the chopped cauliflower with a little water, salt, and turmeric powder. Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until half-cooked.
  2. 2Once the cauliflower is half-cooked, turn off the heat, drain the water, and allow it to cool.
  3. 3In a mixing bowl, combine red chilli powder, garam masala, black pepper powder, corn flour, rice flour, and salt. Mix well, adding a little water to form a smooth paste.
  4. 4Transfer the cooled cauliflower into the masala paste and mix thoroughly to ensure even coating.
  5. 5In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium flame. Fry the coated cauliflower until golden brown and crispy.
  6. 6Serve the crispy cauliflower fry hot with a cup of tea.
