Methi ke Laddoo (Fenugreek seeds Laddoos)

During the winter, methi ke laddoos are a popular sweet food. The elderly consume it to maintain the health of their bone joints. Additionally, it is thought to boost the body's immune during the winter to fend off many winter-related illnesses.

Ingredients

  • 200 gms Fenugreek seeds
  • 200 gms Whole Milk
  • 500 gms Wheat flour
  • 500 gms Sugar
  • 3 unit/count Dried coconut powder
  • 150 gms Gond (edible gum)
  • 150 gms Almonds
  • 400 gms Ghee
  • 500 gms Water
  • 1.5 tsp Black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. 1Using a mixer grinder, grind the fenugreek seeds into a fine powder.
  2. 2Soak the powdered fenugreek seeds in whole milk for four to five hours.
  3. 3Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a skillet and add the soaked fenugreek mixture. Cook for a few minutes until it starts releasing ghee, then remove from heat.
  4. 4In a pan, melt 400 g of ghee. Add black peppercorns and wheat flour, frying for a few minutes. Then, incorporate the gond (edible gum).
  5. 5Whisk the mixture over high heat for five minutes, ensuring it does not burn. Gradually turn off the stove while stirring continuously.
  6. 6Transfer the mixture to a container and add dried coconut powder and the roasted fenugreek from step 3. Set aside.
  7. 7In a pan, combine 500 g of sugar and water. Stir until it reaches a one-thread consistency, then turn off the heat.
  8. 8Add the mixture from step 6 to the prepared sugar syrup and mix thoroughly.
  9. 9Chop or grind almonds into small pieces and incorporate them into the mixture.
  10. 10Shape the mixture into small, round laddoos.
