Instructions
- 1In a pressure cooker, combine the short-grain rice, water, soaked toor dal, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, and a pinch of turmeric. Stir to mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- 2Seal the pressure cooker and cook the mixture until it reaches a soft, semi-liquid consistency. This should take about 15 minutes under pressure.
- 3Once cooked, release the pressure and open the cooker. Add salt to taste and stir well. Serve hot, optionally accompanied by pickle.
