Akki Roti

Flat bread made from rice, a traditional breakfast dish from Karnataka, India.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice flour
  • 3 units Onions (Chopped)
  • 4 units Green chillies (Chopped)
  • 1 cup Coriander leaves (Chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 6 tablespoons Sunflower oil (For cooking)

Instructions

  1. 1In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, chopped onions, coriander leaves, green chillies, and salt. Gradually add water to form a soft dough.
  2. 2Take a portion of the dough and spread it evenly on a non-stick pan to form a thin, round roti.
  3. 3Heat the pan over medium to low flame. Cook the roti, adding sunflower oil around the edges. Flip and cook the other side until semi-crispy.
  4. 4Remove from heat and serve the roti hot. Repeat the process for the remaining dough.
