Ada with Rice Flour

A traditional Kerala dessert made with rice flour dough, sweetened coconut, and sugar, steamed in banana leaves.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice flour
  • 1 cup Water (Boiled)
  • 2 cups Coconut, shredded
  • 1 unit/count Sugar
  • 2 unit/count Banana leaves

Instructions

  1. 1Combine the rice flour with boiled water to form a smooth dough.
  2. 2Mix the shredded coconut with sugar until well combined.
  3. 3Spread the dough evenly on a banana leaf. Spread the coconut and sugar mixture on top, fold the leaf to enclose the filling.
  4. 4Place the folded banana leaves in a steamer and steam for 15 minutes until the ada is cooked through.
