Finger Millet Ada (Ragi Ada)

Ada steamed with ingredients like ragi, coconut, and onions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Finger millet flour
  • 1 cup Coconut, grated
  • 2 units White onions
  • 4 units Green chillies
  • 3 sprigs Coriander leaves
  • 3 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 1 unit Banana leaves (Cut into four equal parts)
  • 1 to taste Salt
  • 1 as needed Water (To make dough)

Instructions

  1. 1In a mixing bowl, combine the finger millet flour, salt, chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, and grated coconut. Gradually add water to form a smooth dough.
  2. 2Divide the banana leaf into four equal parts. Spread a portion of the dough evenly on each piece of banana leaf.
  3. 3In an idli steamer, add water to the base. Place a flat vessel on top and arrange the banana leaves with the dough. Steam each Ada for 10 minutes, ensuring they are cooked one at a time.
