Ragi Ball (Ragi Mudde or Ragi Lump)
Ragi contains calcium with vitamin D. Ragi ball is the staple food of the people of Mysore region.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Finger millet flour
- 1 cup Water
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Sunflower oil

Instructions
- 1In a broad vessel, combine 1 cup of water, salt, and 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil. Bring the mixture to a boil. Gradually add the finger millet flour while stirring continuously until it forms a lump.
- 2Once the mixture starts to come away from the edges of the vessel, cover it with a lid and cook on low flame for 1 minute.
- 3Shape the cooked mixture into a lump and add a little sunflower oil. Transfer the hot mixture to a hollow vessel, smear with a little oil, and swirl to form balls.
- 4Serve the Ragi balls hot. They pair well with chicken gravy. Note: Do not chew the Ragi balls; swallow them whole.
