Butter Naan/Indian Bread

This is the most famous Indian bread. It tastes delicious. Try this at home.

Ingredients

  • 500 gms All purpose flour
  • 0.25 tbsp Instant yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 0.5 tbsp Salt
  • 100 gms Butter
  • 100 gms Coriander leaves
  • 250 ml Water (Approximate amount needed to form dough)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine 500g of all-purpose flour, 0.25 tbsp of instant yeast, 1 tsp of sugar, and 0.5 tbsp of salt. Gradually add water and mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. 2Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes to allow the yeast to activate.
  3. 3Divide the dough into 50g balls. Flatten each ball, sprinkle with coriander leaves, and roll into a round shape.
  4. 4Lightly moisten one side of the naan with water using your hands or a brush.
  5. 5Place the naan in a pan with the moistened side down. Cook over medium heat until the bottom is browned.
  6. 6Using tongs, remove the naan from the pan and cook the other side directly over a flame until browned.
  7. 7Once cooked, brush the top of the naan with butter, cut into two pieces, and serve hot.
