white rice/long grain rice

Soaked overnight and cleaned well

Rice powder is used for making the mixture little more thicker.

Vegetable oil is for frying.you can use any oil of your taste.
Step 1
Grind the soaked rice using a food processor or grinder along with minimal water until it becomes coarse and grainy mixture.
Step 2
now crush the grated coconut with onion and cumin seeds.
Step 3
transfer the grinded rice and crushed coconut into a mixing vessel.Consistency of the mixture is coarse and grainy. If it is loose,add rice powder to make it little thick.

Add enough amount of salt and mix well.
Step 5
Now heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame.rub oil or water in your hand.take a small ball of rice mixture and flatten it by your hands.not too thick not too thin.
Step 6
Then transfer it into the hot oil and deep fry it.When you put it in oil,bubbles will come and then, it will puff up.
Step 7
Flip it to other side and fry it until it become golden in colour.Remove from oil when it is done.
Neypathiri/rice roti is ready to enjoy with chicken or beef curry!!
