Step 1
Roast horsegram & soak overnight in water. Water should be above the quantity of horsegram.
Step 2
Next day cook it in cooker by giving 6 whistles, adding turmeric & salt to it.
Step 3
Masala preparation - Keep a small kadai on gas, put oil in it & spurt 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp mustard seeds, add cut 3/4 onion & fry till onion turns slightly brown, add coconut & fry again till it turns brown, add coriander powder & roast well , add red cilly powder roast for a minute & switch off the gas. After it cools completely grind it well in mixie, add water & grind again into a smooth paste. Masala is ready.
Step 4
Boil mango in cooker with little water in a vessel. After it is cooked remove the skin, cut it into pieces & boil it alongwith cooked horsegram curry.
Step 5
Finally, put oil in a small kadai spurt mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, put red whole chilly, also add remaining sliced 1/4 onion & fry it nicely & put it in cooked horsegram curry. Finally, put curry leaves into the curry.
Step 6
Horsegram curry is ready. Serve it with rice or rotis.
