Ingredients

  • 6 Apples
  • 8 Marshmallows
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar (Originally "C" sugar. Substituted with granulated sugar.)
  • 1/2 cup Shredded coconut (Originally "cocoanut shredded".)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 6 Cherries

Instructions

  1. 1Peel and core the apples.
  2. 2In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes to form a syrup.
  3. 3Drop the prepared apples into the sugar and water syrup. Place a lid on the pan and cook the apples until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. 4Remove the apples from the syrup and roll them in the shredded coconut.
  5. 5Remove the pan from the heat. Add the marshmallows to the syrup and allow them to melt, stirring until dissolved.
  6. 6Pour the marshmallow syrup around the apples and fill the hole in the center of each apple. Place a red cherry on top of each apple.
