Pan Fried Salmon

Salmon marinated in mostly Indian spices, then pan-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium fillets Salmon fillets (You can use around 4 - 5 medium sized fillets)
  • 3 tablespoons Oil (Adjust as required to shallow fry)
  • 1 to taste Salt (To taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Black crushed pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1.5 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 from one small lime Lime juice (From one small lime)
  • 1 as required Water (As required to make it a slightly loose paste)
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder

Instructions

  1. 1Combine salt, black crushed pepper, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, cayenne pepper, turmeric, red chilli powder, Kashmiri chili powder, lime juice, water, coriander powder, and cumin powder to form a slightly watery paste.
  2. 2Apply the marinade to the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated. Place in a refrigerator to marinate overnight for optimal flavor, or for at least a few hours if time-constrained.
  3. 3Heat oil in a pan until it reaches approximately 375°F (192°C). Carefully place the marinated salmon fillets in the hot oil. Fry on one side until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and continue cooking until the internal temperature of the thickest part reaches 145°F (63°C).
