Surmai Fish Fry
A simple and easy recipe for a delicious Surmai fish fry, perfect as a side dish with rice and curry.
Ingredients
- 500 grams Fish (Surmai fish cut into slices)
- 0.25 unit Onions (1/4th of medium size onion)
- 0.25 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste
- 1.5 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 0.75 cup Oil

Instructions
- 1Thoroughly wash the fish slices in salted water and set them aside to drain.
- 2In a mixer grinder, blend the onion, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, and salt into a fine paste. Apply this paste evenly over the fish slices and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
- 3Heat oil in a semi-flat pan over medium flame. Once the oil is hot, fry the marinated fish slices until they are cooked through and golden brown on both sides.
- 4Once the fish slices are fried and cooked well, drain the excess oil and serve hot with rice and curry.
