Surmai Fish Fry

A simple and easy recipe for a delicious Surmai fish fry, perfect as a side dish with rice and curry.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Fish (Surmai fish cut into slices)
  • 0.25 unit Onions (1/4th of medium size onion)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 1.5 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Thoroughly wash the fish slices in salted water and set them aside to drain.
  2. 2In a mixer grinder, blend the onion, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, and salt into a fine paste. Apply this paste evenly over the fish slices and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. 3Heat oil in a semi-flat pan over medium flame. Once the oil is hot, fry the marinated fish slices until they are cooked through and golden brown on both sides.
  4. 4Once the fish slices are fried and cooked well, drain the excess oil and serve hot with rice and curry.
