A traditional South Indian side dish made with raw banana, coconut, and spices, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures.
Instructions
- 1Wash the raw bananas thoroughly and pat them dry. Using a knife, peel the skin lightly, leaving a thin layer to prevent the bananas from becoming mushy during cooking.
- 2Slice the peeled bananas into four long strips, then cut each strip into small cubes.
- 3Heat oil in a small kadai over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté for a minute. Add the banana cubes and continue to sauté for another minute.
- 4Add turmeric, red chilli powder, and curry leaves to the kadai. Stir well, cover with a lid, and cook until the bananas are half-cooked. Then, add salt and continue cooking without the lid until the bananas are fully cooked and have a fried texture.
- 5Once the raw banana sabji is cooked to a fried texture, remove from heat and serve hot as a side dish with rice and curry.
