This snack of Kerala is really popular as it is very crispy and yummy!

Ingredients

  • 4.5 units Raw nendran banana
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Chilli powder
  • 2 cups Sunflower oil
  • 0.5 cup Water

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the raw nendran bananas. Spread some oil on your hands to prevent sticking, then slice the bananas using a knife or slicer.
  2. 2Wash the sliced bananas in warm water and allow them to dry. You can place them under sunlight for 2-3 hours to ensure they are thoroughly dried.
  3. 3In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder. Mix well and set aside.
  4. 4Once the bananas are dried, heat sunflower oil in a pan over high flame. When the oil is hot, carefully add the sliced bananas in small batches.
  5. 5Reduce the flame to medium and fry until the bananas turn crispy. Gradually add the prepared salt mixture, allowing the bananas to sizzle.
  6. 6Remove the bananas from the oil once sizzling stops. Serve the crispy Kerala raw banana chips with hot tea.
