Raw Banana Curry
This is a recipe made with ease, in fish curry style with tomato and raw banana.
Ingredients
- 1 unit Raw banana
- 1 unit Tomatoes
- 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Chilli powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1 cup Grated coconut
- 3 units Shallots
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 unit Dry red chillies
- 1 tablespoon Coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 1.5 cups Water

Instructions
- 1Cut the raw banana into four pieces and immerse in salt water. Rinse thoroughly, then cut into small pieces. Chop the tomato and shallots into small pieces.
- 2In a pressure cooker, combine the banana pieces, tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, and water. Add curry leaves. Cook on medium flame until two whistles are heard.
- 3Grind the grated coconut with enough water to form a smooth paste. Add this paste to the cooked banana mixture and simmer on low flame for 10 minutes until the raw smell dissipates.
- 4In a pan, heat coconut oil over medium flame. Add finely sliced shallots, dry red chilli, and curry leaves. Sauté until the shallots turn light brown. Pour this tempering over the curry and cover the pressure cooker.
- 5Serve the curry hot with rice or chapati, ensuring the tempering is well mixed into the curry.
