Instructions
- 1In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour and salt. Gradually add small amounts of water, mixing gently until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 2Fill the base of the puttu maker with water. In the puttu vessel, layer the bottom with shredded coconut, followed by the wheat flour mixture. Repeat this layering process three times, ending with a layer of coconut.
- 3Place the puttu maker on the stove and steam for 10 minutes. Once cooked, allow it to cool slightly before gently pushing the puttu out with a spatula.
- 4Serve the puttu hot with your choice of masala gravy or curry.
