Puttu
A traditional Kerala breakfast dish made with steamed rice flour and coconut, served with kadala curry.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Rice flour (Dry roasted)
- 1 cup Coconut, shredded
- 1 tbsp Salt

Instructions
- 1Dry roast the rice flour in a pan over medium heat until it is warm to the touch. Mix the roasted rice flour with a little water and salt until it reaches a crumbly texture.
- 2In the puttu maker, add a layer of shredded coconut, followed by a layer of the rice flour mixture. Repeat the layering process until the puttu maker is filled.
- 3Steam the layered mixture in the puttu maker for about 10 minutes until cooked through.
- 4Remove the puttu from the maker and serve hot. It pairs well with kadala curry.
