Broken Wheat Porridge

This recipe is cooked using broken wheat, green gram, and fenugreek seeds.

Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup Broken Wheat (Also known as dalia or bulgar wheat)
  • 0.25 cup Green Gram (Also known as whole mung beans or sabut moong)
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1 cup Coconut, grated
  • 2 cups Water (Enough to immerse the ingredients)

Instructions

  1. 1Soak the green gram, broken wheat, and fenugreek seeds in water for one hour.
  2. 2Rinse the soaked ingredients thoroughly. Add them to a pressure cooker with enough water to cover.
  3. 3Cook the mixture in the pressure cooker for three whistles. Allow the cooker to cool before opening.
  4. 4Open the pressure cooker and add the grated coconut. Stir well, adding a little water if necessary. Bring to a boil and then remove from heat. Serve hot with papad and pickle.
