Step 1
Put 1 ltr milk in a big vessel for boiling. When it starts boiling put washed rice into it & boil it till the rice is almost cooked.
Step 2
Now add sugar into it & keep on boiling till the milk thickness & changes its colour into light pink . Please note that the milk should be stirred intermittantly so that it doesnt stick to the bottom.
Step 3
Payasam is ready. Finally, quantity of payasam will reduce to 3 cups after the milk thickness.
Step 4
Put ghee in a small kadai & saute cashews & raisins & pour it into the payasam & serve it hot.
