A very spicy,tasty and yummy mussels fry which is common in malabar region of Kerala!!

Step 1
Clean the outer part of the mussels with a knife.then open it and clean the inner part also.take the unwanted dirts from it and clean 4-5 times.
Step 2
Drain the water from it keeping inverted on the edges of any vessel.(shown in figure)
Step 3
On a mixer grinder,add 2 cups of white rice,coconut grated,onion,fennel seeds,cumin seeds and salt.grind it well adding little water and transfer to a mixing bowl.
Step 4
Add enough rice powder little by little to the bowl and mix well to make a perfect rice dough.(add water as needed and adjust the salt)
Step 5
now fill this rice dough into the mussels/kallummakkaya.
Step 6
Now steam it for 25 minutes.turn off the flame and allow it to cool once it is done.
Step 7
later,remove the shells of the mussels from the cooked rice dough.only the meat of mussels should be with it.
Step 8
Then,take a small bowl.add chilli powder,little water and salt to make a fine paste.dip the cooked mussels into it and deep fry using vegetable oil.
