SNIP NOODLES, FRIED

SNIP NOODLES, FRIED

These fried snip noodles offer a comforting, savory experience with a satisfyingly crispy exterior and tender interior. This simple recipe uses basic ingredients like flour, salt, and milk to create a rustic noodle dish. The noodles are fried in butter until golden brown, resulting in a rich and flavorful side dish or snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 cup Whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Cold water

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, sift the flour and salt together. Gradually add the milk, mixing until a soft dough forms, similar to biscuit dough. Knead gently until it comes together.
  2. 2Break off small pieces of dough and roll them between your hands to form small, croquette-shaped noodles.
  3. 3Melt the butter in a skillet with a lid over medium heat. Once the butter is hot, add the noodles, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Pour in the cold water, cover the skillet, and let the noodles cook until the water is absorbed and the noodles are browned on one side (about 10 minutes). Remove the lid and brown the noodles on the other side for another 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
