  • 1 cup White vinegar, strong (Enough to fully submerge the wick)

  1. 1Place the lamp wick in a bowl or container and pour strong vinegar over it, ensuring the wick is completely submerged. Allow to soak thoroughly.
  2. 2Remove the wick from the vinegar and gently squeeze out excess liquid. Place on a clean, dry surface.
  3. 3Allow the wick to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area, or pat dry with a clean cloth. The wick must be thoroughly dry before use to ensure proper burning.
  4. 4Once completely dry, install the treated wick in your lamp. The wick will now burn cleanly with minimal to no smoke, producing a pleasant, steady flame.
