Instructions
- 1If using black currant leaves instead of plain water, steep 2 tablespoons of dried black currant leaves in 3/4 cup of hot water for 10 minutes, then strain and allow to cool to lukewarm temperature.
- 2In a half-pint glass or measuring cup (about 1 cup capacity), add 3 teaspoons of vinegar, 2 teaspoons of tincture of myrrh, and 2 teaspoons of honey. Stir briefly to begin combining.
- 3Add about 1/4 cup (2 ounces) of port wine to the glass, filling approximately one-quarter of the tumbler. Stir to combine with the other ingredients.
- 4Fill the remainder of the glass (about 3/4 cup) with lukewarm water or the prepared black currant leaf decoction. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the honey is fully dissolved.
- 5The gargle is now ready to use. Take a mouthful, tilt your head back, and gargle for 15-30 seconds, then spit out. Repeat several times throughout the day as needed for sore throat relief. Do not swallow.
