Fruit Jelly (Fifteen portions)
This refreshing fruit jelly, a classic from the early 1900s, offers a delightful combination of sweet and tangy flavors. Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons Granulated gelatin
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2/3 cup Cold water
- 1 cup White grapes, seeded
- 4 cups Boiling water
- 1/2 cup Diced pineapple
- 2/3 cup Lemon juice
- 1/2 cup Maraschino cherries, halved
Instructions
- 1In a small bowl, sprinkle the granulated gelatin over the cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
- 2In a saucepan, combine the sugar and boiling water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the softened gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. Remove from heat.
- 3Stir in the white grapes, diced pineapple, and lemon juice. Mix well.
- 4Pour the mixture into a serving dish or individual molds. Gently stir in the halved maraschino cherries. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the jelly is completely set.
