Apple Tapioca (Three portions)
This classic Apple Tapioca recipe offers a comforting and sweet dessert with a delightful, slightly chewy texture. Combining the simplicity of tapioca pudding with the fresh, fruity flavor of applesauce, it's a satisfying treat that's easy to prepare. Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons Pearl tapioca
- 3/4 cup Cold water
- 1 1/2 cups Boiling water
- 1/3 teaspoon Salt
- 3 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 cup Applesauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 4 Apples (For applesauce preparation)
- 4 tablespoons Sugar (For applesauce preparation)
- 1/3 cup Water (For applesauce preparation)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon (For applesauce preparation)
Instructions
- 1Wash, peel, and core the apples. Add 1/3 cup of water and cook slowly in a covered utensil until tender. Remove the cover, add 4 tablespoons of sugar, and cook for two minutes. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon on top. Set aside to cool.
- 2Soak the pearl tapioca in the cold water for ten minutes in the upper part of a double boiler.
- 3Add the boiling water, salt, and sugar to the tapioca mixture. Cook in the double boiler until the tapioca becomes transparent.
- 4Add one cup of the prepared applesauce and the vanilla extract to the cooked tapioca. Mix well. Serve either hot or cold.
