Prawns Pickle

A flavorful side dish that pairs perfectly with rice and curry, featuring prawns cooked with a blend of spices and onions.

Ingredients

  • 600 grams Prawns, cleaned (600 grams cleaned prawns)
  • 2 large Onions (Big size)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground turmeric (Less than 1/4 teaspoon)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder (1 heaped teaspoon or more)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Wash the cleaned prawns thoroughly in salt water and set them aside to drain.
  2. 2Using a mixer grinder, grind the onions into a fine paste. Add turmeric, chili powder, and salt, then grind again until well combined.
  3. 3Heat oil in a kadai over medium heat. Add the onion masala and sauté until the raw aroma dissipates.
  4. 4Add the drained prawns to the kadai with the onion masala. Cook until the prawns are done, approximately 10 minutes. Avoid overcooking to prevent the prawns from becoming rubbery.
  5. 5Remove from heat and serve the prawns pickle hot as a side dish with rice and curry.
