Dried Prawns
Traditional sun-dried prawns preserved with salt and turmeric, a flavorful ingredient used in Asian cooking. This preservation method creates intensely flavored dried prawns that can be stored for months.
Instructions
- 1Wash the cleaned prawns thoroughly in salt water and set them aside to drain.
- 2Using a mixer grinder, grind the onions into a fine paste. Add turmeric, chili powder, and salt, then grind again until well combined.
- 3Heat oil in a kadai over medium heat. Add the onion masala and sauté until the raw aroma dissipates.
- 4Add the drained prawns to the kadai with the onion masala. Cook until the prawns are done, approximately 10 minutes. Avoid overcooking to prevent the prawns from becoming rubbery.
- 5Remove from heat and serve the prawns pickle hot as a side dish with rice and curry.
