Mirchi Bajji
Spicy chatpata Mirchi Bajji
Ingredients
- 5 units Large Green Chilli (bhajji mirchi)
- 2 cups Besan (Or as much as needed for coating the green chillies)
- 2 teaspoons Ginger garlic paste
- 1 to taste Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric
- 0.25 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 medium Onions (Finely chopped)
- 0.5 cup Coriander leaves (Finely chopped)
- 2 cups Oil (For deep frying)
Instructions
- 1Rinse the green chillies thoroughly. Make a slit along the length of each chilli and carefully remove the seeds.
- 2In a mixing bowl, combine besan, salt, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, baking soda, and red chilli powder. Gradually add water to form a thick batter, ensuring it is not too watery.
- 3Mix the chopped onions and coriander leaves. Stuff this mixture into the slit area of each chilli.
- 4Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Dip each stuffed chilli into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, and carefully place it into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
- 5Remove the bajjis from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with a cup of chai.
