Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun

Delicious Indian dessert made with MTR Gulab Jamun Mix, soaked in a fragrant sugar syrup infused with cardamom and garnished with pistachios.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Water
  • 5 count Green cardamom pods
  • 8 count Pistachios (Crushed for garnish)
  • 4 cups Oil (For deep frying. Add as required.)
  • 200 grams MTR Gulab Jamun Mix

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of sugar with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes until the syrup becomes sticky. Add 5 cardamom pods for extra flavor, cover, and set aside.
  2. 2In a mixing bowl, combine 200 grams of MTR Gulab Jamun Mix with 1/4 cup of water. Mix gently to form a soft and smooth dough without over-kneading. Grease your hands with ghee and shape the dough into small, round balls.
  3. 3Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame. Once the oil is moderately hot, gently fry the Jamun balls on low flame, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil.
  4. 4Transfer the fried Jamuns into the warm sugar syrup. Allow them to soak for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to absorb the syrup fully. Garnish with crushed pistachios before serving.
