Mackerel Fry/Ayla Varuthadh
A delicious and easy-to-make variety of fish fry, perfect as a side dish or for lunch.
Ingredients
- 250 gms Mackerel
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 0.5 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 1 unit/count Lemon
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 0.5 cup Sunflower Oil (For frying the fish)
Instructions
- 1Cut and clean the mackerel fish, making 5-6 incisions, and set aside.
- 2In a mixing bowl, combine red chilli powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, salt, and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to form a smooth paste.
- 3Spread the masala paste evenly over the mackerel fish. Allow it to marinate for 5-10 minutes.
- 4Heat sunflower oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated mackerel until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- 5Squeeze lemon juice over the fried fish and serve hot with rice.
