Guar Fali Sabzi
Cluster beans, or guar fali, are high in protein and fibre. As a result of its low calorie count, it is consumed to lose weight. It can be made quickly and goes well with any kind of chapatis.
Ingredients
- 200 gms Guar Fali
- 1 tsp Fennel seeds powder
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds powder
- 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
- 0.5 tsp Coriander powder
- 0.5 tsp Amchoor (dried mango powder)
- 0.5 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (as required)
- 2 pinch Cumin seeds
- 1 spoon Oil
- 1 tsp Salt (as required)
Instructions
- 1Place the Guar Fali in a pressure cooker, add water, and cook for one whistle. Once done, drain the water completely.
- 2Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and cook until they begin to crackle.
- 3Add the boiled Guar Fali to the pan. Stir well and season with salt to taste.
- 4Gradually add fennel seeds powder, mustard seeds powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, amchoor, red chilli powder, and asafoetida. Sauté for about a minute to blend the flavors.
- 5Cover the pan with a lid and let the dish simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- 6Serve the Guar Fali Sabzi hot with chapatis. Optionally, you can add potatoes for variation.
