Bajre (Pearl Millet) ki Roti
A healthy alternative to whole wheat rotis, Bajre ki Roti is rich in essential elements like Magnesium, Potassium, and Iron. This traditional Indian flatbread is perfect for pairing with vegetable curries.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Pearl millet flour
- 0.5 cup Wheat flour
- 0.5 cup Water (Add gradually as needed)
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Ghee (For smearing on cooked rotis)
Instructions
- 1In a mixing bowl, combine the pearl millet flour and salt. Gradually add water, one spoon at a time, mixing continuously to form a dough. Knead thoroughly to ensure a smooth texture.
- 2Divide the dough into three equal parts for small rotis. Roll each piece in wheat flour to prevent sticking. Use your palms to shape the dough into a circle, or use a rolling pin if preferred.
- 3Place the roti on a preheated tawa. Sprinkle water on the exposed side and cook until bubbles form. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown. Remove from the tawa and smear with ghee to enhance flavor.
- 4Serve the Bajre ki Roti hot with your choice of vegetable curry. For an enhanced experience, crumble the roti, add ghee and curry, and mix well.
