Sweet Rava Upuma
A sweet version of the popular South Indian breakfast dish.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rava (Medium size rava not coarse)
- 1.5 tbsp Sunflower oil
- 1 unit/count Onions (Medium size)
- 1 unit/count Green chillies
- 0.75 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 2.75 cup Water
- 2 tbsp Sugar (Optional)

Rava Laddoo

Instructions
- 1Place a pan over medium heat and roast the rava until it turns a light brown color. Ensure not to over-roast.
- 2Add 1 tsp of oil to the roasted rava and fry for an additional minute. Transfer to a separate vessel.
- 3In the same pan, heat the remaining oil and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add onions and green chillies. Sauté until the onions become translucent.
- 4Add water to the pan and bring it to a boil. Stir in salt and curry leaves, allowing it to boil for another minute.
- 5Add the fried rava to the boiling water mixture. Stir well, cover with a lid, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the water is absorbed.
- 6Once the water has evaporated, add sugar and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Ensure the mixture is well combined.
- 7Turn off the heat and keep the pan covered for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve the rava upuma hot.
